Afternoon Headlines

  • LooseLips.com: Did you hear about the magazine intern whose responsibility it was to put comments on his employer's blog? You wouldn't have if he hadn't gone and told The New York Times all about it. (OTB)

  • The Hills Have Eyes: While Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt go around acting indignant that one of Heidi's "songs" was "leaked" to Ryan Seacrest's radio show, an astute blog reader exposes Pratt for the low-rent Svengali that he is. (PITNB)

  • Ding Dong, the Witch Is Dead: Goodbye, Leona Helmsley. The world will not miss this gay-hating shrew. That hag Andrea Peyser sure will miss sticking her nose up your gold-plated ass. (NYT) (UPDATE: see?)

  • Jeopardized: The media's tangled coverage of Merv Griffin -- even in death -- knows no boundaries. (QTC)

  • War Coverage: No longer content to film Iraq war coverage from their Midtown studios, "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" will be sending an actual correspondent to the warn-torn nation. While the situation over there is anything but a laughing matter, I am relieved that Stewart picked on of his (few) funny reporters to do the job, who just happens to be a former major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve who served in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan.
