Page 1 Consider (06/11)

  • Three's Company: I was sad to see Roger Federer fail to beat his clay-court nemesis Rafael Nadal in yesterday's French Open final -- Rafa's third in a row. But this adorable photo of the two of them along with Gustavo "Guga" Kuerten on the podium was worth its weight in gold. Too bad the same can't be said about Mary "I've become a 50-year-old-housewife" Pierce after the women's. (NYT)

  • M4M, Kinda: Get ready for the summer of Man Crushes. (SFGate)

  • Fake News Channel: Not only did CNN reporter Jeff Koinanage get caught having an extramarital affair and fired from his job because of his use of company e-mail for personal reasons, now we're finding out he paid militiamen to help him stage a story. (NYP)

  • The Doctor Is Out: It may have taken ABC/Disney eight months to do the honorable thing, but I truly believe firing Isaiah Washington from "Grey's Anatomy" is what needs to happen for gays and lesbians to no longer be treated like second-class citizens. Maybe he and his kindred spirit Don Imus can spend some quality time working out their issues together now. (Reuters)

  • Separated at Birth: My fellow 40-year-old Anderson Cooper and Rascal Video porn star Mike Power. (CastroConfidential)

  • 'Spring Fever': The 19th century German teen sex romp "Spring Awakening" dominated last night's musical categories at the Tony Awards. (WP)

  • Ride the Ride: This year's AIDS/LifeCycle has raised more than $11 million for HIV services on its annual 545-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles -- a record amount. The money will support HIV/AIDS-related services at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. More than 2,300 riders rolled into West Los Angeles Saturday, ending the weeklong ride. (365Gay)

  • Bright Lights, Big Lines: Welcome back to the 1980s: cocaine is back! (NYT)

  • Heaven Help Us: President Bush and Pope Benedict XVI get together to talk about their good deeds. To be a fly on the wall at that hate fest. (AP)

I was so sad for Roger. He's just not himself against butt-picker Nadal, is he? He presses too much, seems so impatient. (I'd get tired of hitting all those backhands above my shoulders, too, I suppose.)

And you're right--what the hell is up with Mary Pierce? How can she look older than Mary Carillo?

I was glad to see Rafa win it. Roger owns the other three Slams and someone has to be short-sighted not to see that just reaching the final in Paris twice in a row pretty much makes him the greatest regardless.

And yes, Kuerten did clean up nicely didn't he? Sigh.

    Cheers
