Virginia Is for Macacas: The Associated Press is reporting that George Allen (one of the stupidest men I've ever seen in my life) is set to throw in the towel officially today, conceding the senate race to Democrat Jim Webb. Cork the champagne, kiddies. (WP)
Dumped: A day after announcing he would be one of the people overseeing "counseling" for the disgraced homo Rev. Ted Haggard, Focus on the Family leader James Dobson is bailing out. In a statement Dobson said he too busy (how's that for support in one's hour of need?). Meanwhile, a camp featured in the documentary "Jesus Camp," which includes scenes with Haggard preaching, is shutting down. The camp's director, Pentecostal pastor Becky Fischer who acted as a drill instructor to campers blamed negative public reaction to the film and said that the camp would likely be closed for several years. Hatred in the Name of God: First the Orthodox Jews are threatening and bullying organizers of a gay pride celebration in Israel. Now the The Vatican is chiming in, asking Israel to ban a gay pride parade this week in Jerusalem, saying the march in the city considered holy to Jews, Muslims and Christians would offend the faithful. Doesn't matter if you're a full-strength Jew, Muslim or Christian, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of tolerance and acceptance going on. And you wonder why I want nothing to do with any of you. For shame. (365Gay)
Home Sweat Home: Kudos to my "home" state of Arizona for becoming the first in the nation to reject an amendment to ban same-sex marriage. "This outcome speaks volumes about Arizona's commitment to families," said Kyrsten Sinema, chair of Arizona Together. "Arizona voters saw through Prop 107's rhetoric and knew that the intent of 107 was to take away domestic partner benefits from thousands of Arizona families." (AP)
Forgiveness? An AIDS activist and former GLAAD staffer thinks Ted Haggard deserves the gay community's "pity ... and perhaps a helping hand, an offer from fellow travelers who know something of the road he must now walk." I'm not so sure. (Advocate)
The Cosby Show: You know how preachers and politicians who go on and on about hating gays too much are often hiding their own secret? What's up with Bill Cosby and his endless attacks on blacks and the way black men conduct themselves and tend to their family business? Might it be that Cosby -- with his extramarital affairs, sex assault allegations and would-be illegitimate children -- thinks that his ability to buy his way out of these situations makes him superior to his fellow (black) man? (SunMedia)
Pink Thumb: A U.S. landscaping firm has been inundated with hate mail after an e-mail it sent rejecting a client because he was gay was made public. Houston-based firm Garden Guy sent an e-mail on October 18 turning down a prospective customer by saying: "I need to tell you that we cannot meet with you because we choose not to work for homosexuals." The recipient, Michael Lord, forwarded the e-mail to dozens of friends and it spread across the Internet. (Reuters)
PRC-STD: Beijing's first clinic for gay people, also China's first to provide free services, opened Wednesday, providing checkups for all sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea and genital herpes. Xiao Dong, head of the Chaoyang Chinese AIDS Volunteer Group, said free treatment would be given to STD carriers, and confirmed HIV carriers would be introduced to national free treatment programs. "As China marches on, so do its medical services. We hope thiprogramme will underline the common medical rights enjoyed by gays," Xiao told China Daily. (ChinaDaily)

Wow, Kenneth, great coverage today! I enjoy your work so much, and I often recommend your blog to others. I always say that it's a great mix of hot men and well-chosen newslinks. :-)
It will be a much better day in Virginia when George "Just because my mother is a Jew doesn't make me Jewish Macaca" Allen acknowledges defeat and concedes to Jim Webb.
I am just glad that we won't be seeing Allen in 2008.

Great news coverage and excellent news about Virginia.
I wonder if Virginia's HB 751 will ever be overturned.
