Four Become Two?

After wearing contacts for more than a decade my eyes suddenly revolted and began to completely reject them. I tried giving my eyes a break and would wear my glasses for a week or two but each time I'd go back to the contacts -- another revolution.

Yesterday I had an eye exam for a new job and they told me that even with my glasses on I have 20/40 vision in my right eye and 20/70 in my left. I don't see how that can be seeing as I just got new glasses about a month ago, but hearing this was disturbing and made me remember how much better I used to see when I wore contacts (plus I hate wearing glasses). So it's been over a year since I wore 'em but I've decided to give me contacts another try.

Wish me luck ...

There are plenty of men who makes passes at guys who wear glasses. Still sexy as hell there, Kenneth.

I'd ask my optometrist/ophthmologist to prescribe a different brand. Different manufacturers use different plastics. You may have devoloped an allergic reaction to the polymer in your current lens brand but be unaffected by a different material. Best of luck.

I had problems with my contacts until I went to the throw away kind..the cost a year is about the same as having the 1 part of semi soft and I don't have the fear of losing one anymore.

I tried to go back to contacts about 6 years ago, and for whatever reason, my eyes just couldn't adjust to them. I finally decided to be brave and have LASIK surgery. I love not have to wear glasses any more, but it sure was a big chunk of cash.

That being said, you look very fetching in your specs.

As cute as you look in those glasses, I can totally sympathize with not wanting to wear them. I developed an allergic reaction to soft contact lenses and my ophthalmologist put me in gas permeables I've been wearing them for about 15 years with no problems. Good luck!

Why is it that you look so good in your glasses and I don't in mine? Maybe I need to shop for a new pair. Of course, I have been lucky enough to have been able to wear contacts for the last 18 years without incident. I only wear glasses at night (in bed), and in the morning before I put my contacts in.

Are you a candidate for Lasik?

Interesting. The same rejection of contacts happened to my sister years ago. She never returned to contacts.

You look hotter in your glasses anyway. ;-)
