Graceful She's Not: Just back from a slew of injuries, Lindsay Davenport knocks out Amelie Mauresmo at the Pilot Pen. But how hilarious must this have been? In June, a fall at her home resulted in a concussion, and she withdrew from Wimbledon. (NYT)
Prescription Strength Bullshit: So you're a police chief and your druggie son buys some bad heroin and ends up dying. Dad gets the DA to file murder charges against the dealer -- gee, I'm sure this would happen for any average Joe on the street if this happened to his son. (ChicagoSunTimes)
Not Quite Basic Cable: What kind of crap is this charging a New York man for providing cable access to Hezbollah Television B. Yeah, he's a terrorist, exercising every American citizen's First Amendment rights and all. (Reuters)
Hell's Kitchen: NYC hotel chef found strangled at his Westchester residence (AP)
Appreciation: The Knack's drummer Bruce Gary died recently. You probably didn't know him by name, but you'll never forget "M-M-M-MY SHARONA!" (WP)

in regards to the drug dealer story... Any father would use any means available to him to get the person who killed his son. He simply had access to the DA. I don't blame him at all. Also, charging a dealer with murder whether it is a resulf of OD or bad drugs is perfectly legit.
What's with these naked guys getting strangled to death, with no signs of struggle or broken entry? I'm relieved I'm in the 323, cause I'm naked a lot!!!
Certainly not defending the addict kid but defending the actions of the parent. No, no one made the kid take drugs - never suggested as such- but the dealer is culpable in the death and can be charged if proven the drugs were from him/her.
So you must be one of those people who thinks gun manufacturers should be sued when someone gets shot, and cigarette companies should be sued when someone gets lung cancer.
It's the people who are at fault, not the products!
Geesh - I love the internet. How easy to judge someone you don't know and say things to them you never would say to their face. I do believe in personal responsibility - I never contradicted you and never said it wasn't the kids fault. Do you read? All I am saying is according to the law the dealer is culpable and I don't blame any parent for using whatever means/connection is available if something happened to their child. If you want to compare a drug dealer to a legitimate business then go right ahead. Good luck defending that position.

There's no judgment here but there's a failure to use Logic 101 here.
A. Drug dealing is illegal
B. Murder is illegal
But that does not make drug dealing murder. Do you see my point?
