What's Up, Doc?

The frequently retired Barbra Streisand pulled a Cher last week and "surprised" fans by announcing she will, once again, tour. Her reason this time around certainly raised more than a few eyebrows: "This will allow me to direct funds and awareness to causes that I care deeply about."

It's no secret that Babs cares about no one more than, well, Babs ...

Streisand's itinerary, to date, follows:
Oct. 4 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia
Oct. 9 at Madison Square Garden in New York City
Oct. 13 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
Oct. 18 at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit
Oct. 22 at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston
Oct. 28 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale
Nov. 2 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta
Nov. 7 at the United Center in Chicago
Nov. 13 at the HP Pavilion at San Jose in San Jose
Nov. 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas
Nov. 20 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles

I heard that people who spent big bucks thinking they were seeing her last performances are putting together a class action suit. Very strange.

Take a look at this video on Youtube

Jane Morgan, a talented singer from the 50s/60s. What the hell were they thinking when they made this early promotional 'video'. The poor woman was being VERY strongly advised that you didn't get anywhere in the business without some (or lots) of titillation for the paying customers.
My point is that Barbra refused to do it. She wanted to control her own image and product. So she made plenty of enemies - and still does.
Sure she thinks about herself, but for those that like and understand her it's called integrity. You may not agree with her politics or her personality, but you've got to stand up for her right to do it HER way and not THE SUITS!

Rant over. Love the blog.
