Page 1 Consider (06/14)

  • Thin Premise: A new study reports that Prozac is not effective for treating anorexia nervosa. Something sounds terribly flawed in the science though. Why would someone who is thin be depressed? (LATimes)

  • Babes in the Woods: Celebrities including Daryl Hannah and Alicia Silverstone were arrested yesterday after living for three weeks in a tree on the grounds of a 14-acre South Los Angeles "urban garden" they were trying to prevent from being developed. People are acting like this was such a feat for these Hollywood types, but how unusual is it for Daryl Hannah to not bathe for three weeks? What's more, a friend of mine worked with Alicia Silverstone and said she was "clueless" about hygiene, opting to shower once a week (max) and digging in the trash cans in the theater's bathroom to "reuse" paper to dry her hands (grody to the max!). (NYT)

  • Better call Joan (she's on the side of the road): Rep. Patrick Kennedy pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of driving under the influence of prescription drugs in a plea bargain with prosecutors stemming from a middle-of-the-night incident last month in which he nearly sideswiped a police cruiser. He was placed on supervised probation for a year and ordered to attend weekly meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, confer regularly with a psychiatrist and submit to random urine tests. Sure sounds like the judge did to him what "anyone else would have done to them if they were an African-American in Anacostia." (CT)

  • Touchy One-Legged Gold Digger: Stella's stepmonster Heather Mills McCartney is suing newspapers over claims that she worked as a hooker in her 20s. She's likely to win because everyone knows her hooker career began when she married Sir Paul. (BBC)

  • How Wright You Are: Sexy slugger David Wright made it threeƂ’s company for the New York Mets when he became the third Met to move to the top of the balloting in the latest National League All-Star voting released Monday. He's been at the top of my list for quite some time ... (MSNBC)

  • At least her marriage is strong: The very sad Maury Povich-Connie Chung show "Weekends With Maury & Connie" has been given the axe over at MSNBC (nice work, Dan!), but it's not all bad news. Connie has now been fired by ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC. Go for the Grand Slam, girl, and give Fox a call! (WE)

Daryl and Alicia are very passionate about the environment. Such a shame that you would comment like that! Gays are really shallow!
