WaPo: Unfortunate but not entirely unexpected. This is where the past seven or eight years of moving the goalpost (merely self-identifying as trans rather than transitioning, but then expecting everyone to fully understand, no questions asked), alienating allies and refusing to take yes for an answer has gotten the gender-diverse community. (No surprise that the GOP is shamelessly exploiting this.) And before you point to the murder rate of trans women of color, take a look at who is doing the killing and ask yourself what that means. (Hint: It doesn't appear to be a systemic problem.)
This(!) actually appears in the WaPo story linked to above and "they" wonder why they're losing them

I don't care so much about being labeled as "Queer". It is better than the "F" word, or "homosexual". I actually think "Gay" is an odd term as well, if truth be told. What recent trend is REALLY annoying me is the pronoun thing. My current company is "strongly" encouraging employees to state their pronouns in their email signatures and on Teams calls. I'm a man with a long, plush ZZ-top beard and a deep voice. I've never done drag or worn a dress, it's just not my thing. I DO NOT NEED to tell people to call me "him". Sorry. Don't force me to choose, because I'm going to choose "Her".
