Sickeningly Sweet

Yesterday when I opened a box of Trader Joe's maple sandwich cookies, I was startled to discover a note wrapped around a $10 bill inside. Apparently it was some attempt at a "random act of kindness," as the piece of paper explained, but all we could wonder was how it got in a SEALED box of cookies and what else got in there? Appreciate the gesture, but in people's FOOD?????? The plastic wrap was still on the cookies, but we were really weirded slash grossed out -- are we being ridiculous?

I think I would have tossed the box in the trash uneaten.

@betted: Something like, "Enjoy this random act of kindness. Pay it forward."

I wonder if it was done by an employee at the manufacturer. Returned food items are often tossed out, not reshelved. Open or not. Seems if it was done in the store, someone might have noticed. But regardless, keep the money, and return the cookies for a refund. And ewwwww...
