Right now I'm indefinitely in Arizona caring for my mother (Parkinson's disease and debilitating back issues) while my stepfather is hospitalized recovering from surgery to remove a tumor (that cracked his spine) before going into rehab and eventually beginning chemo/radiation to start treating multiple myeloma. Because the state is overflowing with Covidiots, the poor man had to wait for three weeks to be operated on, lying in bed screaming in pain despite a morphine drip risking Covid, pneumonia, blood clots and paralysis. Fortunately, he made it through surgery without incident and is grateful to be re-learning how to walk. If all goes well, I hope to leave them again self-sufficient and to be back in New York early in February.
If this "Party Down" revival can pull off getting Constance (Jane Lynch) and Lydia (Megan Mulally) to work together, 2022 might not turn out to be one of the worst years on record. ❤️

Sorry to hear. A very stressful time for you.I’ve been through it and it is no fun.
You're a good son. Here's hoping all goes well and when you return to NYC you can feel confident that your parents are on the mend.
Good for you for being there. Sending strength.
Wow. That is a lot for them and you. Don't forget self-care. That's important too.
I was sitting here with a not-terrible case of omicron feeling sorry for myself, which you have put back into perspective for me. I'm sorry to hear of their troubles; as an old guy too, I understand some of what they're going through.
Good luck, I wish all of you well.
Sending strength and support for you caring for your folks. The good news - it's January, and not July when it's 110*.
Kenneth, so sorry to hear of their illnesses. You stay safe.
