Susanna Hoffs has written some of the best pop songs of my youth -- "Hero Takes a Fall" should have been the Bangles' breakout hit, and "In Your Room" was an instant classic -- yet I still cannot get enough of her covers. (When your voice and taste in music is as good as hers, it's hard not to lap it up.) Lucky for me, the follow-up to 2012's sublime and all-originals "Someday" will be "Bright Lights," featuring her take on classic and obscure songs by the Merry-Go-Round, Nick Drake, the Monkees, Prince, Syd Barrett, the Velvet Underground and more.
