The obituary of Cathy Smith, the one-time muse of Gordon Lightfoot (she inspired ‘Sundown’) who is better known for being the one who injected John Belushi with the fatal speedball https://t.co/s23jXzTy0H— Jesse Hawken (@jessehawken) August 27, 2020
Wow, the infamous Cathy Smith has died. WSJ had recently done an Anatomy of a Song about "Sundown," an absolute classic single. I don't know much about the Belushi situation, but why do I feel like she wouldn't have been vilified nearly as much if she had been a man?

Finally, some good news.
After alleged mass shooter Kyle Rittenhouse shot several people in Kenosha, he casually walked towards police and gave them what appears to be a pre-planned hand signal. And the police didn’t lay a finger on him.— Tariq Nasheed 🇺🇸 (@tariqnasheed) August 26, 2020

But did they take him to Burger King?
Yes, quid pro quo.
“We’re giving Alice a full pardon. We are going to do it right now," announced Pres Trump, much to the surprise of Alice Johnson, whose life sentence he had previously commuted after she served 22 years. Pres said pardon means Johnson can now do whatever she wants in life. pic.twitter.com/Un4ZArMX4Q— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) August 28, 2020

Is Google just another Facebook?
I spent (more) time (than I should have) reading and responding to comments left in posts of friends of mine from Arizona and Michigan today and WOW. Even if leadership changes in the months ahead, we are still saddled with 40% of adults who are, um, "deplorable." As a nation, where do we go from here?
What do you do when half of people are irredeemable? Asking for a nation.— Kenneth M. Walsh (@kenneth212) August 28, 2020
