Song of the Day: 'I Can't Help Myself' by Orange Juice

Scottish pop tarts Orange Juice never caught on in the U.S., but that didn’t make me any less of a fan. Frontman Edwyn Collins eventually had an unlikely worldwide smash when "A Girl Like You" was used on the "Empire Records" soundtrack -- it was even a Top 40 hit in the U.S.

If there was anything negative I took it deeply to heart. When I was in Orange Juice I could quote you word for word anything bad that had been written about us. Our album Rip It Up got a roasting in the NME and I was so upset I refused to get on the tour bus. I was like that for a long time. And then my stroke happened. Everything changed.

Didn't even know he had a group before "A Girls Like You".
