One of the standout tracks of Rosanne Cash's exemplary new album, "She Remembers Everything," out today on Blue Note Records. At the risk of sounding ageist, most of my legendary artists' material gets weaker as they get older. (Debbie Harry, Madonna and Paul Simon come to mind.) But Mrs. Leventhal consistently improves with each new release, always pushing herself while never abandoning what she does best. I was crushed to miss her recent performance in support of the album in Brooklyn, but am hoping she adds another date as the current tour gets ready to wind down. Eager to see if the "Norma Rae" musical she wrote the songs for makes it to Broadway -- it's such a perfect match for this left-leaning activist/musician.
