It's hard not to feel a little bit greedy mourning the death of someone who lived 92 wonderful years. But for people of a certain age, Charlotte Rae was the girls' school housemother we never had, so hearing she died is heartbreaking just the same. Thanks for all of the memories, Mrs. Garrett.
