One of my favorite moments from Tori Amos's show at the Beacon was when she did cover songs -- something she's apparently quite fond of. Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Philadelphia" and Joe Jackson's "Real Men" were the stars that night. Her take on the title track from Lloyd Cole and the Commotions' debut album is another favorite, as is this 10cc classic.

She has an album of covers of originally male-sung songs called "Strange Little Girls". This is on it, in addition to several other amazing covers (plus a couple of clunkers).
Much prefer Lloyd Cole's original. It's one of the great songwriter's best songs.

It doesn't get much better than "Rattlesnakes" and "Perfect Skin," which was on the same album.
Damn, what amazing nights I spent at the original 930 Club!
