Page 1 Roundup (04/21)

The New York Post: Page Six slips further into irrelevance with a foolish item by Mara Siegler claiming Carly Simon embarrassed herself this week singing "Coming Around Again" after a screening of Clive Davis's documentary "The Soundtrack of Our Lives" at Radio City Music Hall.

"Why is this happening?" the gossip column quotes one attendee as wailing, while claiming another joked, "This sounded a lot better when we were high in the '70s." Never mind the fact that the accompanying video shows Simon in fine vocal form and that the song came out in the mid-'80s -- more than 15 years after her landmark debut. The single, which sweetly melds "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" into the end, was recorded for Nora Ephron's "Heartburn" and is considered one of Simon's signature songs, one that put her back on the Billboard singles charts after a long absence. (Might this item have been written as payback for THIS?)
