A (Different Kind of) Hollywood Love Story

Damian and I watched "Postcards From the Edge" (his first time) and then followed it up with the HBO documentary about Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher over the weekend -- and it pretty much destroyed us both. I was hesitant to dig in -- it just seemed too soon -- but if you're also hesitating I'd suggest just ripping the Band-Aid off. Although it's about two beloved stars, I think everyone will see their own relationship with an aging parent in this story -- so the heightened emotions are worth feeling

Boy Culture attended a screening last year at which Carrie spoke and Debbie called in. Read all about it HERE.

I think the HBO doc gave me a lot more perspective and made me less sad. Career fading away completely , poor health, stubbornness. My mother baked cornbread and mac and cheese from scratch yesterday and did laundry and hit four shows on MSNBC. She couldn't wait to try out Greta Van Susteren (sp). My mom will be 85 in March and rules this house with an iron fist. The dogs and I live in fear ! But then there are those days???

Sweet documentary about two complex talented women- the bond between mother and daughter was so strong one can understand why Debbie could not live with out Carrie- a must watch for fans of classic Hollywood but glamorous and lurid
