Song of the Day: 'I Love You Always Forever' by Betty Who

From the covers of songs that weren't that good to begin with files! Interestingly, I was riding in a car in Colombia with my then-boyfriend Rafael when I first heard this song on the radio and I distinctly remember his little sister Catalina singing along in the back seat to Donna Lewis's version and thinking that my knowledge of pop music was slipping away from me -- and here we are 20 years later, with my being more clueless than ever!

Me in Bogota, circa 1996

I love the original song. It reminds me of a time and place (and man) I hated at the time but am now nostalgic about now. I think it's a great song, a unique feel and tone and a sweet charm that is hard to deny. I like Betty, but this is too similar to the original while removing all that made it great.
