'Stars Wars' Awakens Movie Goers

"Star Wars": The Next Generation: My niece, Ally, and her friend Justice

I know I'm the only member of Generation X to never see a "Star Wars" movie, but even a full-blown fan would have to be surprised by this report from Dow Jones:
AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. executives offered more details today on just how big the opening box-office gross could be for Walt Disney Co.'s "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Speaking on an earnings call today, interim CEO Craig Ramsey said the company record for single-day online ticket sales was broken "by a multiple of 10" when tickets for the movie went on sale last month. More than 1,000 auditoriums showing the movie were sold out in the first 12 hours, and 30 AMC theaters are scheduled to be open with screenings for 24 hours straight on opening night to keep up with demand. Mr. Ramsey said he expects that number of 24-hour locations to grow before the movie hits theaters on Dec. 17.
How good could it possibly be?!
