Song of the Day: 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' by Diana Ross

The title track from Diana's platinum-selling 1981 album, the beauty's first after leaving the Motown label. Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards (Chic) were slated to produce this follow-up to the megahit "Diana" album they had done together, but the duo was committed to producing Debbie Harry's solo debut, "Koo Koo," and Johnny Mathis' "I Love My Lady," which unlike the singer failed to ever officially come out. Ross ended up producing it herself and the results were fantastic!
