Am begging/encouraging everyone I know to write to their reps and/or the Federal Trade Commission to urge them to NOT allow this takeover of Rite Aid by Walgreens. Rite Aid is the only affordable drugstore chain in NYC, and if Walgreens buys it, you can be sure those days will be over. Walgreens already owns Duane Reade, our other chain. This is NOT GOOD for competition no matter what bullshit about "synergies" they throw out there. The only cost-savings will be passed on to shareholders, not to consumers.
