Olivia Newton-John's a Little Bit Country ...

Billboard "rewinds the charts" to 1974, when Olivia Newton-John "conquered country." While the article is chock-full o' fun details, I can't imagine anyone first heard of the Aussie beauty via "Grease." Weren't "Have You Never Been Mellow" and "I Honestly Love You" the biggest songs of all time all over the nation? Read HERE.

Yes, Olivia had already released her first greatest hits album before she was cast in Grease.

She is now number 10 on the Billboard dance chart with a remake of the song Magic from Xanadu. This is her first Billboard appearance in 23 years.

When you were in diapers, Ken, I stopped in Rome, shopping the stores for handbags to be copied in Colombia or the USA. This nice young woman and male friend stopped me and asked if I knew where Armani was sold (this was before he had his own stores). I told them to go to Fendi and ask. An hour later, I was in the "happening" shoe store, when Olivia and Matt came in, Matt sporting an olive aniline-dyed leather jacket with an Armani insignia the size of a basketball on the back. We chatted some more -- she was still so nice-- and I bought the stupid unisex boots that the store was touting, just to be cool and chat more. 40 years later, the unworn (too fruity) boots went to Goodwill. Keep going, Olivia!
