35 Years Since 'Airplane!' Came Out? Surely You Must Be Joking

Today marks the 35 anniversary of the release of "Airplane!," which remains to this day the funniest film in motion-picture history. I can remember going to see it about 10 times at the Westwood Dollar Cinema in Mesa, Ariz. -- where we also saw "My Bodyguard" a dozen times -- dragging along whoever I could each time. My brothers were always up for it, but sometimes the admission fee was a bit steep for my friends. (We were only 12 or 13!) The Decider has put together a fun list of 10 interesting facts about the film, many of which I did not know -- like that Chevy Chase, Bruce Jenner and David Letterman were all up for the role made iconic by sexy Robert Hays. Check it out HERE -- or else I will keep calling you Shirley.

UPDATE: The Daily News sure was off base!

If you haven't seen "Zero Hour" I suggest renting it pronto. It is so unintentionally hilarious.
