Wow this is really interesting! I grew up in the Bahamas around lots of women. Great-Grand Mother Grand Mother Mother sisters aunts neighbours and I have a masculine voice. I think what gives me away voice wise is my diction. The Bahamas has a British background plus every teacher I had in school would correct you if you mis-pronounced a word, so when you hear me speak you can immediately tell I don't sound like what is typically expected a black person from certain neighbourhoods to sound like.
