Happy Molly's Day

Mother's Day 2005, in Washington, D.C.

Mom's 10-hour spinal surgery was deemed a success, but the recovery has been very slow going. Complicating matters, my poor stepfather (Gary) ended up having a heart attack AT THE HOSPITAL while visiting/caring for her, so that took the situation to a whole new level. Fortunately, both are now in a Tucson rehab facility on the mend -- his triple-bypass went well, too -- and get this: They are ROOMMATES, which means my next book just wrote itself! Here's hoping to be posing like this again next year with Molly -- and Happy Mother's Day to all the women in our lives who mother us in various ways. xo
