Song of the Day: 'One-Way Ticket' by Gloria Loring

En route to Arizona for a family emergency, so postings will be light for remainder of week. My mom had major back surgery on Thursday -- nine hours under, we were all terrified -- and while we were busy exhaling that she seemed to make it through it all right, slowly improving each day after, my stepfather suffered a heart attack while taking care of her bedside. While it sounds horrendous on paper, I'm looking at the glass as half full. It was great that Gary was already at the hospital when he started feeling chest pains. And while he can no longer take care of my mom right now, I am more than happy to step into the role -- and also be there for the man who raised me when he gets discharged in a day or two. Think of me when you hug a loved one today. xo

What a great album. Gloria Loring would do variety shows in the 60s, pre-soap fame, and knock them out with Frank Loesser's "Never Will I Marry" which is a cut on this album.
