More "White Album" fun: I knew the "I Am Sam" had a brilliant cover of "Two of Us" by Aimee Mann and Michael Penn, but wasn't aware that the whole album was Beatles songs. Was gonna use Carly Simon's version of "Blackbird" until I was pointed to this one instead, performed by a woman I'm still not entirely sure who she is. (Add PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, Shawn Colvin, Paula Cole, etc. to the list -- I missed the whole Lilith Fair era dating a Colombian!)

Sara Mclachlan is a very chill yet soulful singer. She has honest to goodness vocals and scathing lyrics which sometimes make you wonder "Holy crap did she just really say that?" I love her music. Two that will break your speakers with her semi soprano voice are "Ben's song" and "Fear". The last one is my favorite song. It's sound fills my heart when I feel fear, often of my own making. I recommend starting with "Drawn to the rhythm" then listen to the album "Fumbling towards ecstasy". I challenge not to love her:)
