Can't be with my mom this year so am sharing this photo of an all-time favorite Mother's Day memory from the mid-aughts when she came to Washington and we toured her old haunts from when she finished high school and married my day in the area. (The people who live in her old apartment on Flower Avenue wouldn'tlet us in the place!) Hope you're actually WITH your mom today, but if she is not nearby or no longer with us, I'm guessing she is very close to your heart.
