And Delaware Makes 11!

Great news from the First State, where I have many great memories as a child at Rehoboth Beach: Delaware is set to become the 11th state to allow gay marriage. (Plus Washington, D.C.) I used to think taking the marriage equality fight to the polarized Supreme Court was a mistake. But now I realize it was conservatives -- clinging to the past -- who really wanted to bring this to a vote now, realizing it was their last shot at keeping institutionalized discrimination intact. As the SCOTUS issues its ruling this summer, it will be much easier for them to be conservative in its reach with just 11 out of 50 states on board. But at this rate, that number could be much higher by this time next year. However it happens, though, one thing is clear: We have won the marriage equality debate!
