Two Thumbs Down: Roger Ebert Is Dead at 70

Sad to hear that just a day after announcing the return of cancer, Roger Ebert has joined Gene Siskel on the "Sneak Previews" set in the sky. (How I loved watching that on PBS when I was in junior high and discussing the reviews with my English teacher, Mrs. Fagan!) Roger was a brilliant writer and critic -- film and social -- and it makes me smile to think of all of the things he said over the years that have woven their way into my everyday dialogue. ("No two people in the history of the world have ever said anything like that.") When his voice was cruelly taken away from him, he turned Twitter into his larynx. I will miss having him in my life that way. RIP. Read his NYT obituary HERE.
