'Strip' Tease

Steve Stanulis first told his story of living a double life as a narcotics cop and Chippendales dancer on the stage in the off-Broadway production "Stripped: The Play." (He was "40" then.) Now the former NYPD officer -- who recently turned "39" -- is bringing a stripper tale to the big screen with "Long Shot Louie."

“We were pitching this before ‘Magic Mike,’ and everyone was like, ‘Why would you do a movie about stripping? That’s ridiculous,” Steve Stanulis told the Daily News. But after the Channing Tatum-induced hype, Stanulis, who left the force in 2001, got his project off the ground. "It’s about a troubled, young man named Louie who finds solace in stripping."

Stanulis describes his new project as a cross between "Boogie Nights " and "The Wrestler," the film is set to premiere at the SoHo International Film Festival next month.
