Shawl We Try This Again?

I guess this has been around for a while, but in case you missed it, here is the original "Scarlett" video for "Stand Back," the lead single from Stevie Nicks' sophomore solo album. I'm not sure how much blow Rhiannon was doing that summer, but this Civil War (???) inspired clip is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen -- and it's even funnier listening to Miss Stevie make fun of herself! Stevie reshot the clip and "Stand Back" became one of the biggest songs of 1983, and one of the most recognizable videos of all time. Enjoy!

That Civil War version was absolutely ridiculous. Even the redone version looks very dated with those cheesy dancers, but Stevie on a treadmill at 1:56 is a classic for the ages!

Stevie's my girl!

I remember reading in a 1983 issue of Life Magazine that the reason she rejected the Civil War version was because she looked "fat" in the dress.

Thank God for insecurities. The replacement video was, as Ken stated, CLASSIC Stevie. :-)

Stevie, who was rarely seen smiling in photos during the height of her solo career, is actually very humorous these days. She still takes her music seriously, but she's not afraid to laugh at herself.

At least she kept the dress ruffling thing and what is she doing with the man of MY dreams.
