RIP: Charles Durning

I'm sure by now you've heard that Charles Durning died on Christmas Eve, at the age of 89. He was great in everything he was in -- I've watched "When a Stranger Calls" more than anyone in the history of the world! -- but never more so than as Jessica Lange's lovestruck father in "Tootsie." He will be sorely missed. Read his New York Times obituary HERE.

Charles Durning was a class act. I agree, Kenneth, that "Tootsie" was one of his best. RIP, Mr Durning.

My mom and I watched "Home for the Holidays" with Durning, Holly Hunter, Ann Bancroft, et al on Christmas Eve. When the sister reveals to the family that Robert Downing Jr.'s character got gay married on a beach, Durning's character's only question was "you didn't wear a dress, did you?"
