If Life Is a Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing in the Pitts?

Poor Brad. And I thought it was embarrassing when my mom was helping out in our family's party-supply store and told me she noticed that black people "really love purple." Read HERE.

P.S. Although I neglected to take screen grabs, shame on Springfield, Missouri’s News-Leader, the paper that published the letter. At first they did not say if the Jane Pitt in question was Brad's mom or not. Then when people speculated that it was, they updated the site to say that it WAS NOT. Then they updated the site again with this lame non-apology:
Editor’s note: To clear up earlier confusion, the News-Leader has verified the letter writer is the mother of actor Brad Pitt and local businessman Doug Pitt.

For this,  I give the News-Leader the CNN Excellence in Journalism award for the week!

Over at Dlisted (yeah I know) ... one poster summarized it best by writing:

"Beliefs, opinions, and politics rooted in bigotry, ignorance and hatred do not deserve polite political responses in kind.

So let's not confuse the two. We don't owe bigots "civil discourse" when what they're spewing is hate speech."
