The ultrasound requirement may be too much, but I do agree with the principle of full disclosure. If the pregnant woman doesn't know how developed the fetus is at the time of the abortion, it could be very disturbing to find out in the future. There could be a simpler way of offering this than an ultrasound though - perhaps making photos of fetal development to her (not necessarily the one she is carrying).
I've had knee surgery and wanted to know exactly what was going to be happening in there. Surely pregnant women should have full information too.
