I'm assuming the Ron Paul supporter who placed this ad (below) already had the copy together from last month and just had to swap out Marcus Bachmann's name. All (not) kidding aside, my only concern about this -- and stories about the public's interest in Rick Perry's rumored homosexuality -- is that 48 percent of the public won't get what this is really about, and will actually think that digging up that Perry is gay would be reason to dismiss him as a candidate -- you know, BECAUSE he's gay. Perhaps I'm underestimating the public, but somehow I doubt it. How do I know? Rick Perry is successfully running for president.
Meantime, Daily Kos reports that Perry graduated from Texas A&M in 1972 with a 2.2 GPA. (His degree was a BA in Animal Science.) There are 2 A's, 19 B's, 27 C's, and 8 D's. And one of those D's is in Principles of Economics.
That comes out to:
A - 3.5%
B - 33.3%
C - 47.4%
D - 14%
F - 1.8%
This is NOT someone I want to see elected president -- we want Rhodes Scholars and the brightest of the bright leading this country -- but Republicans will probably find this charming. Politicians, They're Just Like Us: They Get Bad Grades!
I'm this close to seeking political asylum outside the U.S. until the election is over and it's only August 2011.
UPDATE: It's official, he's the second coming of W:

I agree that we want the "best and the brightest" elected to our highest office. Sadly, we haven't had anything like that in the last 10+ years. To be fair and balanced, let's finally see Mr. President's undergraduate record. I'm pretty certain that it's not as spectacular as many would assume.
Ken, pack up your belongs and boyfriend, we're moving to Canada.
No sense moving to Canada. Preznit Perry is just going to nuke it.
