No offense to any of my former neighbors in Michigan, Arizona, L.A. or D.C., but block parties in the city are so much more colorful.

you guys got nothing on SF
some people are not as lucky or blessed as we are. not nice to post such a photo and make a statement like this. i love your blog and read it daily. but this was not cool.
I hear what you're saying Anonymous 2, but I truthfully meant no disrespect and deliberately chose to keep the snarkiness to (what I thought was) a minimum. I've lived here for more than a dozen years and have never NOT been able to open my front door because passed out drunks were blocking it, so as a blog about life in New York City, it just seemed like something I felt like documenting -- a reminder that it's not all glamour here in the city.
P.S. Would it kill you guys to simply fill in the "Name" field -- "Steve" or "John," doesn't have to be all that revealing -- when leaving a comment so it can feel like we're having a dialogue rather than a faceless robot barking at me?
Hi, Ken
Here's the thing. If I woke up in the morning, heading off to work, I'd too, develop an existential attitude. I got bit by a mosquito, tonight at "work," so it all is relative. I did'nt get the impression you were being insensitive. Just being real.
