Do Tell

A new article in The New York Times says Adm. Mike Mullen began thinking about the impact of repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell” some five years ago, but that he denies his father's work as a Hollywood press agent (Bob Hope, Ann-Margret, Phyllis Diller, Jimmy Stewart, Carol Burnett and Dyan Cannon were clients) had anything to do with his thinking. This would be easier to believe, however, if it didn't go on to say that his 19th-century home on a military compound in the neighborhood of Foggy Bottom was decorated with framed Playbills from nearly every Broadway show he and his wife have seen. Mmm.
