Putting the T in LGBT!

In yet another pro-LGBT move, The Times reports that Gov. David Paterson plans to extend anti-discrimination protections to transgender state employees, a decision that signifies the broadest inclusion yet of transgender people in state policy, according to several people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Paterson will carry out the decision through an executive order, to be signed on Wednesday, that will require state agencies to include transgender individuals in their nondiscrimination policies, these people said. (Full article HERE.)

It's nice living in a state where a governor is nakedly trying to win my support by supporting LGBT causes! It's not something to take for granted. I like Paterson. I wish his poll numbers (up, but nothing great) meant he would win against any Republican, but they don't. Probably have to go with Cuomo, who I also like and who wouldn't have been so bad in choosing a senator to replace Hillary. (Gillibrand I have no major issues with, but the picking process was embarrassing and we've got a senator who is much more vulnerable than she needed to be.)
