Mixed Signals

Just watched an intriguing short film called "Signage" that's currently showing on Logo's Click List. In it, we meet Lex, a 41-year-old man whose struggles to maintain his marketability in today's youth-obsessed gay world are challenged by an encounter with Jonathan, a young deaf man, at a local gay bar. I enjoyed the film but have to say that the casting really threw me for a loop. Is it just me or do all the "youngsters" who are supposedly "half" the lead actors' age look twice as old and half as attractive? I've always preferred guys who are older than I am, but watch for yourself and tell me what you think. (I'd MUCH rather go home with either of the leads -- and I say this from a strictly shallow perspective.) I appreciate that not everyone is an A&F model. But I actually burst out laughing at one point.

It's a real shame that in this day and age we here in Canada cannot access this movie trailer site, nor anything that is posted from Comedy Central.

I also didn't get the supposed attractiveness of the younger group. I do think the shaved head and artful facial hair didn't do anything for Lex.
