Page 1 Consider (06/11)

  • The Return of Bruno: It seems when Bruce Willis isn't filming movies, he's busy moonlighting as a nudist. Frank has Bruce's hot ass and FULL FRONTAL (not bad!) shot at OMG Blog HERE.

  • Coup Your Jets: Has state senator and guy who likes to smash his girlfriend in the face with glass Hiram Monserrate gotten cold feet about jumping party? (PolitickerNY)

  • The Sixty Million Dollar Man: Move over, Col. Steve Austin. Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez just signed a huge five-year deal with the New York Jets. I'm not sure how he'll do this season, but from the looks of things he's worth every penny they spent. (NYT)

  • Sliding Doors: The Hill has a great piece on Anthony Woods, a decorated military man until "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" forced him to abandon his career. Woods returned to his hometown of Fairfield, Calif., this spring and is poised to run for the congressional seat likely to be vacated by Rep. Ellen Tauscher, who is awaiting Senate confirmation to become arms control undersecretary to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. If elected, Woods would become the first openly gay black man to serve in Congress. Had it been up to Tauscher, Woods wouldn’t be running for her seat in the first place -- not because she opposes his candidacy, but because she has been the lead lawmaker for the past several Congresses on overturning “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” The irony is not lost on Woods. • HBO Ready Have you heard about the "butch wing" at a Virginia correctional facility? (AP)

  • Separate and Not Equal: Thousands of Americans who face a choice -- separate or move abroad -- because they can't secure green cards for their partners like heterosexual spouses can. (AP)

  • An Innocent Abroad: Europeans have been accused of trying Amanda Knox, an exchange student from Seattle accused of murdering her roommate in Italy, in the media. Truth be told, most of the things I've seen and read about it here have left me with mixed feelings at best, thinking she was guilty at worst. Timothy Egan writes the most compelling article to date on how Knox and her boyfriend are completely innocent and being railroaded by powerful Italian prosecutor who is under indictment for professional misconduct. • Greenwich Villagers: Since same-sex marriages became legal in Connecticut in November, couples, many from New York City, have been flocking to Greenwich to wed. (NYT)

  • Tour of Hate: An 88-year-old white supremacist with a rifle walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, one of the capital’s most visited sites, on Wednesday afternoon and began shooting, fatally wounding a security guard and sending tourists scrambling before he himself was shot, the authorities said. (NYT)

  • Reality Check: How pathetic are these North Carolina legislators that they would even want to honor Jesse Helms at this point? Kudos to those who want nothing to do with such nonsense. (AP)

  • Acrylic Plane Sold Separately: Lynda Carter's new album is now available. You know you want it. ("At Last" at Amazon.com)

  • Happy Ending: China's first Gay Pride event, organized by Shanghai's English-speaking expatriates, has been quietly celebrating homosexuality this week with no hint of a parade or advertising hype. (AFP)
