Page 1 Consider (05/04)

  • Longtime Love Story: I make no apologies for my lust for the young Ryan O'Neal. And his Steve McQueen 'do in "The Thief Who Came to Dinner" is nearly as cute as his ass. (OMG Blog)

  • Lowest Common Denominator: Kudos to Sumner Redstone, whose company Viacom is responsible for Colors, the top-rated entertainment network in India. Its top show, “Balika Vadhu,” is a drama about a girl who marries at age 8. Can you just imagine the storyline possibilities, like when she loses her IUD playing on the monkey bars and has to get the lunch lady to help her find it. (NYT)

  • Surge in Violence: The situation for gay Iraqis has never been more dire: With reports of torture, "anal gluing," and murder coming out of the Middle East, Michael Luongo wonders if the U.S. surge to blame for this sudden explosion of anti-gay violence. (Advocate)

  • Look Good in Blue: Note to Justin Gaston: I could give you some head and shoulders to lie on. (Celebs in Denim)

  • The $87 Million Man: Despite getting some of the worst reviews around, "Wolverine" cleaned up at the box office this weekend. And why not? Who wouldn't want to watch Hugh Jackman on the big screen for two hours? And did you catch him on "Oprah" Friday? O was so giddy she made Nate Berkus look calm, cool and collected! (NYT)

  • A Dad's Plea for Justice: It's nearly impossible to believe that it's been 30 years since little Etan Patz vanished from the streets of Soho, forever changing the city's landscape. His father is now convinced he knows who killed Etan. But will the Patzes ever get a chance to learn the whole truth? (NYDN)

  • National Equality Rally: Despite the rain, hundreds of gay rights demonstrators marched through the streets of the city's historic center on Sunday carrying rainbow-colored flags and signs calling for equal rights in marriage, in the workplace and in health care. (Would love to hear from anyone who attended.) (Philly.com)

  • At Closer Range: Sean Penn and Madonna together by the end of the year. Mark in the (714) called it! (AP)

  • I'm a Stead-man: I used to love "Thirtysomething," although I think I only watched the first year. Lucky for me, all four seasons are coming to DVD soon. (And by loving "Thirtysomething" I mean I loved Ken Olin.) (DeepDish)

  • Change We Can Still Believe In? Some think President Obama is backtracking on key promises to gays and lesbians. I'm not sure what to believe. (JoeMyGod)

  • The First Grandmother: Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson! (NYT)

  • Backfired: It's nice to read that a newspaper isn't completely at the mercy of its advertisers. (NYT)

  • Obstructed View: I don't care if the feud was made up by the media or not, I don't like seeing Star Jones and Rosie O'Donnell getting along. Rosie's way too smart for this. (Access Hollywood)

  • In the Barracks and Out of the Closet: The Times talks to nine experts about how lifting the ban on gays would affect the military ranks. And, as the first step, if the president acts to change the policy, should it be by executive order or should it be by act of Congress? (NYT)

  • Roman Empire: Rafael Nadal won his fourth straight Italian Open yesterday, with a straight-set victory over Novak Djokovic. It pains me to say this, Bjorn, but Nadal may very well be the greatest clay courter ever -- and who knows what else. (AP)

  • He Twitters, She Texts: Dating in the modern age is fraught with the forlorn stories of the technologically incompatible. (WashPost)

  • The Wright Track: I know Mets slugger David Wright hasn't been playing too well lately. But he sure looks good. If those guns are any indication of what the rest of his bod looks like, that shirtless photo is even more of a priority than it already was. Anyone? (NYDN)

  • Who Knew: Pink's rep say that the widely published reports that the singer said she's bisexual are false. (NYDN)

  • California Dreaming: Hey, Julian Schratter! Those coffee-stained undies will need to come off, now. (DNA)

Nadal won his fourth Italian open in the last 5 years, not consecutively. Djokovic was the winner last year after Nadal loast early due to injured feet.
