You, Baby

I'm a HUGE Ronettes fan, so THIS article about Estelle Bennett, who along with sister Ronnie and cousin Nedra rose to fame in the '60s with hits like "Be My Baby" and "Baby, I Love You" really broke my heart. Estelle, who died last week, struggled with anorexia and schizophrenia, and was sometimes homeless.

From left, Estelle Bennett, Ronnie Spector and Nedra Talley Ross in New York in 2007 at the Ronettes’ induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I loved the musical, "Leader of the Pack" on Broadway back in the 80's. Darlene Love and Annie Golden sang some of the Ronettes hits and did them proud. Patrick Cassidy also starred in the show.
