Ross the Intern Scores With the NFL

My friend just alerted me to this rather hilarious clip of Ross Mathews interviewing various members of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals right before the Super Bowl. Some of the players' reactions to him are priceless and Ross, as always, is adorable.

"I have a Care Bear on my inner thigh!"

This just made my day better. Thanks for posting it.

I like him, too, and many of these encounters are funy, but at times he comes off as buffoonish and...what's a good gay version of Uncle Tom? Auntie Tom?

No offense to Ross (I'm sure he's a nice person), but I cringe when I see him too. Don't you think the producers are making him be as queenie as possible? America is laughing at him, not with him.

No, I think he just owns it. He's a fruit, and he's making no apologies. He's definitely not blending in with the football crowd, and what he represents is a "so what if I don't act butch, know anything about football," for example. I think that is something that our culture desperately needs. Personally, I know I still have moments where I start to feel bad about not fitting in to some set of expectations. But then again, Ross had host a segment of frickin Jay Leno, on national TV and be himself. So I think the message is that so can we, as individual, be who we are and make no apologies

I'm laughing with him. Very funny. Ross has some big pink balls to go interview all those gigantor players.

Very funny segment. But Ross is a mixed bag for me. I don't like the idea that people watching at home might think he is the "typical" gay guy. Also seeing the homophobic reaction from most of the football players was sad to see. Not that I was expecting anything different. But it was still disappointing.

Chris P editing his own post... post-posting? Kenneth, would you be able to fix, as noted in parens below?

But then again, Ross (CAN) host a segment of frickin Jay Leno, on national TV(add COMMA) and be himself. So I think the message is that so can we, as individual(add S), be who we are and make no apologies(add .)

Thanks!
