Page 1 Consider (08/08)

  • The Champ: These new photos of Ryan Phillippe working out shirtless make him look strangely similar to Ricky Schroder. (BigBadBlog)

  • Beardy-Man: I didn't even know Tobey Maquire had started shaving. (LARagMag)

  • Start Spreading the News: The legendary Liza Minnelli is back performing live! (Wanna know what's even more surprising news? Christopher Cross opened!) (NYDN)

  • Protection: Legislation aimed at banning bullying in public schools, including harassment based on sexual orientation, has been quietly introduced in the state Senate. The legislation, which includes language protecting transgender students and teachers, has been a priority of advocates for gay and lesbian rights but was ignored for nearly a decade in the Senate. (NYT)

  • Gang Green: But I guess we already knew Brett Favre looked good in green. (NYT)

  • Bad Rap: An arrest was made in the murder of a young woman whose body was found in a nightclub days after a birthday party for Lil' Kim. The story is heartbreaking. (NYT)
  • The New King: My "Big Brother" loving pal told me that the deliciously vain steroid-midget Jessie got the boot last night. ("You don't even go to church on Sunday!!!") In his absence, may I recommend Memphis? (CBS)

  • Is This Something to Be Proud Of? A former Bush presidential aide claims in a lawsuit filed Thursday that plot and marketing elements of the Kevin Costner bomb "Swing Vote" were stolen from him. (AP)

  • Candied Hamms? An ankle injury forced Morgan Hamm to withdraw from the Olympic Games on Thursday, dealing the U.S. men’s gymnastics team another blow. Just a week ago his twin brother, Paul Hamm, the defending all-around gold medalist, was forced from the team with an injury. (NYT)

  • Rut-Row: Just when you thought everyone had moved on ... former advisers to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton are in a tizzy over an upcoming piece in the Atlantic Monthly that chronicles the inner workings of the now-defunct campaign. Of particular concern are nearly 200 internal memos that the author, Josh Green, obtained -- 130 or so of which he plans to scan in and post online. When the piece is published sometime next week, readers will be able to scroll through the memos, from senior strategists such as Mark Penn, Harold Ickes and Geoff Garin, and see what exactly was going on inside the infamously fractured Clinton organization. That has some former team members in a panic. And we thought the Abramoff e-mails were fun. ... (WP) Luckily, Bill and Hillary have already lined up their speaking engagements at the convention later in the month. (AP)
