Family Matters

My cute mom called me last night. She wanted me tell her I love her ("just in case") because she's having surgery today. (People in my family don't usually have surgery, so you'll have to pardon the high drama for a second.) Poor Molly can't get a break -- or has gotten too many of them, depending how you look at it. Regular readers will recall she got plowed down by her own SUV and did a number on her face last fall. This time she broke her wrist when she got knocked down by a golf cart. Naturally, I wanted to know who the reckless driver that had done this horrible thing to her was. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the guilty party was none other than my 19-month-old niece, Ally...

Apparently Little Miss Table Dancer drives about as carefully as she eats:
Now I hear that my tennis buddy nephew, AJ, is none too pleased with his little sister right now. ("I don't like what she did to Grandma.") I hope at the very least that they take Ally's driving privileges away (she's gotta learn).

Meanwhile, here's hoping everything goes extra smoothly in the O.R. today. God knows my mom deserves it. Love you, Mom!

UPDATE: My sister (the mother of the hit-and-poop-her-pants driver) just called to say that 10 screws and one plate later, Mom is in the recovery room and that everything went well.
