Page 1 Consider (01/10)

  • More Than Divine? Two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday. The presentation was made in front of world famous Grauman's Chinese Theater. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Swank is the first transgendered film star to ever receive this glamorous honor. (M&C)

  • You Probably Think This Post Is About You: Are men more vain than women? See what "Adorable" David Zinczenko of Men's Health thinks. He wrote "The Abs Diet," so he's gotta know what he's talking about, right? (Yahoo)

  • Isn't It Romantic? The director of "Gay Sex in the 1970s," Michael Sean Kaminsky, tied the knot with his longtime love, Gerard Jacques Beekman, over the weekend in Brooklyn. Oddly, neither sported a mustache. Congrats, boys! (NYT)

  • Cuts Both Ways: The marriage of two men in Massachusetts is not recognized by the state of New York, but an agreement the couple made for one to pay the other $780,000 if they split is valid and legally enforceable, a judge has ruled. The ruling, published Monday, came in the separation of lawyer David Gonzalez and real estate investor Steven Green. I like this judge's reasoning, and I believe a similar ruling occurred regarding a custody dispute between two women who had moved out of New Hampshire to Virginia. What I can't stand is the "loser" in each case who wants the rights of being married when it suits them, but then wants to have the courts to invalidate everything when it doesn't. Let's stop hurting ourselves, fellow gays. (NYT)

  • Golden Girl: The home of actress Suzanne Somers and her Alpha Beta husband Alan Hamel was destroyed by a fire that swept through part of Malibu on Monday night. The couple lived in the home for seven years. Ever the optimist, the woman who turned blue and red plastic into gold wasn't about to race over to the Regal Beagle and drown her sorrows: "My nature is to look at the glass half-full," Somers told reporters. "I truly believe we will learn something great from this experience." (AP)

  • RIP: Former tennis pro Gloria Connors, who coached her son Jimmy Connors to multiple Grand Slam championships and a No. 1 world ranking, has died at the age of 82, the International Tennis Hall of Fame announced Tuesday. Anyone who followed tennis in the 1970s was very familiar with this tough-as-nails broad. She'll be missed. (AP)

  • The Breakfast Wars: Anyone else love those egg and cheese sandwiches at Dunkin' Donuts, that do not appear to be made from anything resembling an actual egg or piece of cheese? God, they're good. Now it seems Starbucks is trying to get in on the action and they might be using real ingredients. I wonder what that would be like. (NYT)
