Page 1 Consider (08/17)

  • Mirror Mirror: I'm not fat -- but I'm still not my type. (T-Shirt Hell)

  • On 65th Street: The future of Lincoln Center is bright and exciting for all of New York City. (NYT)

  • Rising Medical Star: Dr. Kevin De Cock is the director of the World Health Organization's AIDS program. He certainly sounds like he's up to the job. (AP)

  • Dept. of Homeland Buffoonery: The lady on the plane was either carrying a note about al-Qaida and matches or some hand cream. One of those. (Try to guess which item is illegal.) (NYT)

  • Justice for JonBenet: The arrest of John Mark Karr and reported confession of an American elementary school teacher in the murder of JonBenet Ramsey is a fascinating turn of events. It seems the man lived not far from the Ramseys when they lived in suburban Atlanta, and that he was living in Boulder at the time of the little beauty queen's grisly murder. Although it's tragic that mother Patsy did not live to see this day -- and have her name cleared once and for all -- John Ramsey says that he and his wife, who died in June, were aware that an arrest was imminent. Perhaps Mrs. Ramsey can rest in peace after all. (AP)

  • Digital Delay: There's a fabulous new machine that allows you to easily turn your old albums and cassettes into CDs. Sounds great -- but where were you back in 1990? (Circuits)

  • Mad About You: I may have to watch this new "Celebrity Duets" show. It turns out Belinda Carlisle will be one of the singers paired with a "celebrity" in this new Fox reality show. Lucy Lawless is on it too -- but what the hell happened to this former babe? (AP)

  • Animal Attraction: Colorado's Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez and his newly chosen running mate, Janet Rowland, are the latest to jump on the Santorum Bandwagon: "For some people, the alternative lifestyle is bestiality. Do we allow a man to marry a sheep?" asked Rowland. Sounds like Colorado has a winner. (Advocate)

That's a bad picture of Lucy Lawless. She has a recurring role on Battlestar Galactica and looks FANTASTIC on that show.
