That Didn't Come Out Right, Did It?

I don't watch "Top Chef" but a reader tells me that the reunion show last night contained a rather hilarious unfortunate quote from contestant Stephen Asprinio. It seems the chef most in need of a hair net was explaining how fortunate he has been in his life to have had so many people educate him about business and food and this is basically what he said:

"I've been very lucky to have had so many teachers, professors and mentors dump loads in me."

(Thanks, Chuck!)

Yeah I caught that as well. Stephen is always inadvertently hilarious and last night was no different.

Too bad you haven't been watching: The reunion show was great. Stephen also added 77 and 13 and got 100, but he was cradling a huge champagne bottle in his lap, so it was sort of understandable.

He was a pompous ass throughout the series, but last night I sort of liked him. ("Which would you rather eat, sand or spit?")

As much as I hated him, I thought it was great that he apologized to Candice for the things he had said to her. That took some courage.
